  • To celebrate the release of their remastered, re-mixed, and restructured two-part opus, 'Gods in the Spirit, Titans in the Flesh,' dynamic rap duo Blu & Nottz reveal the sleek new video for standout single, “Heaven on Earth.” The visuals center on the rapping half of the tag team, Blu, who spends time spitting his well-traveled gospel in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. And he’s complemented not just be the fresh direction of The Infamous Oz, but also the sharp editing work of The Last American B-Boy and stylish animation of Unjust (for Elevation Nation Productions). As a team, they bring even more life and color to Blu’s rhymes, which sound as potent as ever over Nottz’s contemplative instrumental. “Heaven On Earth” is, of course, one of many notable tracks on the rerelease of GITS,TITF, which now boasts new material and a new track list overseen by Blu himself. This revamped take on the now full length release is without question the quintessential version of two smaller halves that were already dope, that now exists on an entirely new level. Check out the visuals and head over to the retailer of your choice to support 'Gods In The Spirit, Titans In The Flesh' which is now available on digital, vinyl, CD and cassette via Coalmine Records.

The song, featuring Grammy Nominated Soul Veteran Eric Benét, is a celebratory and nostalgic blend of hip hop/soul. It speaks of triumph through tribulation and an arrival at power and joy through struggle, an assessment of where we have been and hopeful vision for where we are going. Filmed in Lomé, Togo, West Africa and directed by LA based artist Joachim Zunke/Produced by Jahëna Lousin & Togolese Activist-Rapper Elom 20ce, the video, the second in the series following the visually stunning "My Mother's Daughter," is an ode to Black joy and an aesthetic homage to the power of the human spirit in it's strength to overcome.

HIP HOP. WTF happened to you? Let's take it back to the days when real dope is recognized. Everybody keeps asking for the dope shit, yet nobody reaches into the underground to put those artists on the next level platform even when the talent is undeniable and noticed by their peers. Massive budgets are spent on mass producing the same sound and the same type of rappers regardless of talent and purposely pushing a poisonous message of f*ck the world, get yours, drugs, guns, b*tches, murder, bullshit. Artists are expected to blow up first and then they are accepted. It's about numbers now. Damn. YALL ARE VIOLATING! STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN!
